Clear Councils are proud to be partnered with the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).
Since 1947, the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has been the only recognised national membership organisation for local (community, neighbourhood, parish and town) councils. NALC works with county associations to support, promote and improve local councils.
There are 10,000 local councils in England that represent 35 million people with 16 million electors, raising £600 million in precept and investing over £2 billion in communities. Some of the largest councils have a precept of over £1 million a year. Around 100,000 councillors spend over 14 million hours a year serving those councils to help change their community. Over 300 new local councils have been created in rural and urban areas in the last decade.
NALC believes local councils nationwide are the centre of community effort and service delivery, give a democratic voice to communities in the deliberations of other agencies and work in partnership with them. Vibrant, dynamic and effective local councils help communities help themselves build strength and resilience and improve residents’ quality of life.
Local councils provide an ever-growing range of services. It is more crucial than ever to have sector experts supporting and arranging the proper protection for councils. That’s why NALC has partnered with Clear Councils Insurance to enable local councils to be as effective and efficient as possible. We thank them for all their continued support.
We are on hand to provide assistance and guidance, and our dedicated team would love to hear from you.
