About this event
Our partner NALC (National Association of Local Councils) are running a series of online events bringing together national influencers, policymakers and decision-makers, along with people from across the local council sector to share the latest ideas and inspiration on how we can build back stronger and more resilient communities for the future.
Following the coronavirus pandemic, parish and town councils are having to think differently about how they work and how they connect and engage with their communities. Local councils were at the heart of the initial response to the pandemic and the ‘Rebuilding Communities’ series will give help them play a vital role in the local leadership needed through the recovery and beyond.

Local councils and the future of play
The webinar on Wednesday will cover how our relationship with outside spaces and nature has changed this year, and the opportunities this presents to many local (parish and town) councils to think about the facilities in their local area to ensure young people and children have access to play no matter what the future holds.
Early in the pandemic, playgrounds, schools, playgroups and many other opportunities for play were closed and only time will tell what impact that will have had on so many children and young people.
During this webinar you will hear national perspectives on how important play is for children and young people and how local councils can use their parks, playgrounds and other facilities to enable play to be a part of every childhood in a post-COVID-19 world.
